How To Have Your Own Website

in Internet Marketing Articles, Internet Marketing Tips

This post will guide you step by step in getting your own hosting to setup your own website. (This is the hosting that I have used myself for more than 2 years. Before this, I have 2 other hosting providers that do not meet my expectation). I suggest you to read 1 time and then refer it when you are creating the new hosting account.

Before you proceed to register your hosting account, you will need to have a domain ready. This will be the domain that will be tagged to your hosting account.

Even though this hosting company does provide domain registration, I still suggest you to register your domain at Namecheap.

Before proceed, ensure that you have a domain ready. You can refer to this post -
How To Have A Domain on step by step guide to register a domain. A domain is like address that someone key in the browser to go to your site. An example of domain is google.com, yahoo.com, marketingtreasurehunt.com, etc.

Start You Web Hosting Creation Process

  • Click here to visit Hostgator
  • Next click on the Web Hosting link as shown in the picture bellow
  • Web Hosting

  • You will lead to a page to select your hosting plan as shown bellow
  • Web Hosting Plan

Decision to make for choosing what hosting plan
For a start, I suggest you to take the Baby Plan. This plan allows you to host for more than 1 domain. Unless you are so sure that in the near future, you only have 1 domain, else take the BABY PLAN

  • After you click on the plan you wish to order, you will see the following screen:
  • Web Hosting Register

  • Select the option – I will use My Existing Domain and update My Nameservers only., and type in your domain in the box provided. Click the next button. You will then see the next screen.
  • * you can ignore the “I will update my nameservers only.” I will explain that in my later post.

    Web Hosting Register

  • Select the package you want. Here I have selected the Baby plan. After that click on the continue button
  • Now you need to select the Billing Cycle. Select the 36-months plan is definitely the cheapest option. This is up to your usage. For me, I registered for 3 year to save some bucks.
  • Take note that there is a coupon box. From time to time, there will be a promotion coupon provided by the provider to save you some money. At this point of writing, the coupon is AUTUMN
  • Web Hosting Register

  • Click the Calculate Totals button to proceed
  • From this point, it is about payment. So happy shopping :P
  • Good Luck To You For Your First Web Site :)
