The business of affiliate marketing as many very important aspects but even if you screw everyone up as long as you get this one right you will always make some money. You may not make much if you screwed everything else up but you still will make money. Conversely if you only mess this one up and perfectly execute all other aspects of affiliate marketing I can guarantee you that you will not make a single dime.

It is choosing your market, and more importantly your sub nice within that market. Where weight loss is a market, cardio for weight loss is a smaller market, and running to lose weight is your sub niche. So why is it so important to find the right market?

Well let us say that a huge well known company wants to give you 75% of all the money that is made for each sale you make of their product, which is chilled water. Almost frozen but still refreshing and a great product. But if you were at the north pole, do you really think you could sell your chilled water very well? You may not even be able to give it away.

Now you are in the desert, and there is no water for miles, let alone chilled delicious water. People will be flying to you and practically throwing money at you to get your chilled water. Big difference right?

So how do you find these people? That is easy just do some market research. Find out where your market is, i.e. the desert, and what they are looking for to solve their problems, i.e. chilled water, and then you present it and rake in the money. It really is that easy and with proper research you will always be able to make money as an affiliate.

Now this is a broad generalization but it is still the truth. You can not sell ice cold water to people who are already ice cold, you will either need to change your market, go to the desert, or you would need to change the product you are promoting, hot chocolate for example. But if you are having a hard time making money take a look at what you are selling and to who and make sure you are targeting the right market.
