You may or may not realize this but you can be an affiliate of two very different types of products. Digital Information products and “hard goods.” Each one has its pros and cons and I want to talk to you about promoting digital information products. Why? Well there are some simple answers for it.
The first is that selling digital information allows you to promote and advertise the product anywhere in the world. (that has internet access of course) Assuming they speak the language of the product you are promoting and there is a need for it you are able to sell it there. Especially when it comes to overseas you do not have to worry about customs, shipping costs, damaged goods, or delivery times. Everything is sent over the internet.
Next, since everything is sent over the internet it can also be sent immediately and in this age of instant gratification this can do wonders. A person can make a purchase and have it available to them within minutes if that. Who doesn’t love instant gratification? People can get their product, read through it and assess its value and be grateful that much quicker. Plus there is no dispute that they paid for it because they got it and they do not really have time to forget that they bought it over a period of several weeks.
Lastly and maybe most importantly to you is the bottom line. That is right, money, since digital information does not require any actual hard good there is no manufacturing cost. This allows you to make a larger commission on each sale. So instead of getting only a 5% commission on a $50 item you can get as high as 75% and that is a huge difference especially once you begin to sell a lot of product.
Those are just a few of the many reasons why you should sell digital information as an affiliate to start and not hard goods. There are some cons but the pros definitely outweigh them and you can begin to make some good money, assuming you follow a proven business model, within a few weeks.
